The Artist and the Process
James E. Fiore, Jr.
Owner, Fiore’s Printmaking | Biloxi, MS
I’m a retired nurse with a BSN, but my passion for art has been lifelong. Mostly self-taught, my journey has spanned painting, sculpture, glasswork, and—most notably—printmaking. A single class in 1969 left a lasting impression, and for the past four years, I’ve dedicated myself to linoleum and woodcut prints.
Inspired by Japanese woodcuts and artists like Walter Anderson and John Scott, I focus on the tactile experience of ink, paper, and carving. Using traditional techniques, I explore the beauty of line, texture, and process, continuously seeking to challenge perceptions and inspire reflection.
